Lots of laugh

A humor is a crucial factor in achieving and maintaining psychological well-being. It is a coping strategy.  It can decrease tension and anxiety. By laughing we reduce cholesterol and blood pressure. Thanks to laughter, breathing deepens which oxygenates the brain.

A therapy through laughter is included in the treatment of depression. The gelotology is becoming more popular; their therapists work in children's hospitals, nursing homes and orphanages. Humor helps us when we feel fear and do not accept complexity of the paradoxes of the world. Thanks to the jokes we tame what is difficult, we distance ourselves from what is painful. Humor familiarizes us with the existence of ambiguity.

The sense of humor is influenced by genes and upbringing. A good sense of humor consists in many elements such as knowledge of the world and sociocultural contexts. Humor is highly cognitive. It requires taking different perspectives, abstracting. The Comedians around the world series shows us the diversity of humor in Brazil, South Africa, New Zealand, the Netherlands, France. There are nations that prefer situational jokes; and there are nations that are famous for their abstract or linguistic jokes. Obviously, there are fans of Woody Allen's comedies and there are others, followers of Monty Python. Not everyone appreciates eschatological jokes like: Eat corn before your death and cremation will be fun.

Stand-up comedians such as Ricky Gervais, Louis C.K, Jerry Seinfeld, to be more funny use: hyperbole, metaphors, quotes, reformulations. For their other methods belong: insults, irony, self-contempt, vulgarity. They tell anecdotes play with words.
